AN ANNUAL GROWTH OF TWENTY PERCENT

Larger volumes mean speedier transhipment. A first wave of invest-ments (purchase of containers and modifications to ships) has made the 45 ft container into a familiar sight within shortsea shipping in northern and western Europe. The same is now also happening in southern and eastern European ports. According to ING group, transhipment of 45 ft containers in shortsea shipping is increasing by 20% a year.
